Therapists for college students near Durham, NC
I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with the challenges of daily life or who feel weighed down by issues of the past. My clients are often people who struggle with anxiety, depression, identity issues, grief, stress, or relationship issues. My ideal client is ready for change, or contemplating what the first steps of change look like. I practice exclusively through teletherapy sessions, and require clients to have reliable and consistent access to internet services. I offer a safe space for BIPOC, women, LGBTQIA+/trans/poly, neurodivergent, and other diverse communities. I am a very direct person, known for my honesty and “cut-to-the-chase” attitude. Over my years of practice, I have become known for my strength in work with teenagers and young adults, who have described me as “relatable” and “trusted.” I also enjoy helping adults work through life transitions and exploring issues of self identity and purpose. I believe strongly in the validation of clients’ feelings and experiences, to help remove stigma and shame. I believe that with support, clients can be empowered to make difficult decisions and take charge of their own growth.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, or life changes, I’m here to help you navigate those challenges in a safe, non-judgmental space. I'm neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC affirming. Together, we can explore your emotions and develop strategies to manage stress and move forward with confidence. My goal is to support you in your journey of personal growth, healing, and empowerment, so you can become more resilient and your best self. It's a big step to seek out support to begin your healing journey, but you don't have to navigate it alone. I invite you to reach out and begin your journey to create a positive change.

I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults across a broad range of life stages. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, identity development, life transitions, relationship challenges, school and work-related stress, LGBTQ+ concerns, and other life events. Life can be exciting and meaningful, but it can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re facing a major transition, struggling to understand what you’re feeling, or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to provide a space where you can pause, take a breath, and explore what’s happening without judgment. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. NuMind welcomes students of all ages and backgrounds. We are invested in assisting with your healthy matriculation through your studies, and recognize that your mental well-being is vital to that process. Our owner, Dr. D'Angelo Lewis (Dr. Dee) was a college professor and advisor, as well as a Program Evaluator for UNC General Administration. He is very familiar with the rigors of higher education and the struggles that come along with the journey to graduating. As an undergraduate he not only attended school full-time, but did so with no home address, no financial support and with a toddler in tow. Imagine the dorm being your only home and feeding a child in the cafeteria! I promise that whatever you are enduring, Dr. Dee can relate and help you move your life forward.

I’m Chesilin Suek, PMHNP, and I’m dedicated to helping adults and teens who feel overwhelmed by anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that dims their spark, ADHD that makes life feel like constant catch-up, or OCD that traps them in exhausting cycles. Together, we create space for healing, clarity, and forward momentum. I offer a supportive, judgment-free environment where you’re met with understanding, encouragement, and respect every step of the way. My approach focuses on treating the whole person—not just symptoms. While I provide evidence-based medication support when appropriate, I also look at sleep, stress, relationships, lifestyle, and the deeper patterns that influence how you feel and function day to day. Care is never one-size-fits-all; we work collaboratively to create a plan that aligns with your goals, values, and real life. You are not broken, weak, or a burden—you’re human, doing your best in a world that can feel overwhelming. You deserve to feel better, not just get by. You deserve hope, energy, and something to look forward to. You don’t have to keep surviving on autopilot. Together, we’ll untangle what’s holding you back and work toward the life you’ve been wanting and deserve.
