Many clients reach out when they’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns they would like to shift. Central to my work is developing a strong therapeutic relationship. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and deep care to each session, building a connection and trust that can make real, lasting growth possible. I’ve spent over a decade working in various clinical settings. My specialties include anxiety, depression, perfectionism, OCD, and eating disorders. I use evidence-based approaches to help clients achieve their goals and developing the plan for treatment is always a collaborative process with my clients. I enjoy seeing clients in-person in my Marblehead office (where I can offer a cup of tea) and I also strive to make virtual sessions feel just as comfortable. I have over 25 years experience working with teenagers and adults. I understand the social, behavioral, and academic challenges clients face, not only with the pandemic, but with social media, peer pressure, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationships, decision making, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I provide cognitive behavior therapy, which is to help clients understand why they are thinking and behaving the way they are and to help them understand that in order to change for the long term, they need to first understand what is causing the problem. I help clients develop coping skills and self-care strategies for in the moment and every day use.
Person Centered Therapy provides individual, family, and couples therapy to treat a multitude of mental health conditions. I particularly enjoy working with college students and young adults to guide them through career and life transitions as well as helping them to overcome limiting beliefs so they can thrive. I have over 27 years of experience in helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, anger, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, stress, self-esteem, gender identity, phobias, and other issues which once prevented them from accomplishing their goals and making the important changes they wanted in life. Clients can expect “person centered” therapy which means the focus is on each person’s own unique insights and experiences. This empowers our clients to take a lead role in their therapy which offers them autonomy, empathy, unconditional positive regard, and help to reach their full potential to live a fulfilling life. We offer a safe and supportive environment so clients not only receive encouragement, but also feel comfortable being fully involved in sharing their thoughts and experiences. Such a supportive approach encourages clients to explore their own insights, find solutions, and take a very active role in their therapy. This method also promotes self-awareness, personal growth, autonomy and empowerment plus helps to develop healthy and effective coping strategies to improve emotional well-being and functioning across all areas.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and openness, helping you uncover your strengths and find meaningful growth. Whether you are processing past trauma, working through current challenges, or seeking greater self-understanding, I strive to meet you where you are and support you every step of the way. I bring a compassionate, person-centered, and holistic approach to the therapeutic space, while creating a safe and supportive environment for all individuals.
I work with LGBTQIA+ folks, neurodivergence, people with trauma histories, depression, anxiety, grief, and difficult family dynamics in individual therapy. I am available virtually and accept many health insurance plans. I always reply to every inquiry and offer free consultations to see if we are a good match and to answer any questions you may have. My style is relational, somatically focused, and rooted in liberation psychology. We might talk about how you are feeling, situations that you've felt that way before, and start to identify patterns of beliefs, reactions, coping strategies. I aim to understand you inside of your context and approach what's going on with you compassionately. If this sounds like something that might be supportive, don't hesitate to reach out.

Do you feel exhausted from trying to hold everything together? Maybe you have always been the responsible one or the person others rely on. You pushed through stress, anxiety, and family challenges because you felt like you had to. At first it seemed manageable, but now the pressure feels heavier and harder to carry. On the outside you appear confident and put together. Inside you might feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or worried that you cannot keep this up much longer. Wanting a break does not mean you are failing. It means you are human. I’m Sara, and I help students who are tired of perfectionism, constant pressure, and the weight of expectations. I work with people who want healthier relationships, better communication, and support as they process past experiences that still affect them today. My background includes ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, and group therapy training, which allows me to tailor our work to what you need. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, honest, and real environment where you can finally let your guard down. I show up as myself so you can feel comfortable showing up as yourself too. You deserve a space where you can put down the pressure you have been carrying and focus on feeling grounded, supported, and hopeful. I am here to help you get there.
