Therapists for college students near 02467
Welcome! My name is Sarah and I'm a licensed psychologist in Cambridge, MA. I work with students with concerns related to relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity development, and navigating big life transitions that come with college life. I provide in-person sessions in Harvard Square and telehealth throughout Massachusetts.
I have been working as a therapist in private practice for over 20 years. My specialties include working with trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and body image struggles.
Life pulls us in a lot of different directions, and it can be exhausting. Yet beneath this is a quiet invitation. An invitation to slow down. To reconnect. To breathe deeply and remember who you are. To let your feet find the ground again. And your heart find rest. It's not about fixing everything all at once. It’s about turning gently toward yourself, with curiosity and compassion, and asking: What do I need right now? What is my body telling me? What is my heart longing for? I'd love to help. I'm a licensed therapist specializing in working with young and early adults (18-39). I started my practice because I care deeply about helping people connect with who they are and what they want for their life. Together, we’ll help you nurture a healthy relationship with yourself, make sense of how the past has shaped you, and build a meaningful future. I offer individual therapy to clients across Massachusetts via Telehealth, with in-person sessions coming soon. If you’d like to learn more or schedule a free 30-minute consultation, just click the button—I’d love to connect with you!
Are you an anxious over thinker navigating relationships or a new career? Are you a people pleaser or highly self critical? I'm Aisling, a licensed therapist specializing in supporting women and adolescents dealing with anxiety, navigating life transitions, and healing from trauma. I hope to provide a space to explore all of those challenges with compassion, sensitivity, and sometimes humor. I view this work as the most important thing I could possibly be doing and I hope each client leaves this space feeling hopeful about themselves and the world around them. I work with adolescents and women to navigate a spectrum of anxiety disorders. In particular, I know how debilitating high functioning anxiety and perfectionism can be. I offer a place to explore the root of the anxiety, people pleasing behaviors, and develop healthy coping skills. I want to empower clients and help them see their own strengths.

When you are choosing a therapist, finding the right fit really matters. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. I recognize that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I take an integrative approach that draws from evidence-based practices and is thoughtfully tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, goals, and personal style. For more than two decades, I have worked extensively with high school, college, and graduate students in both community mental health and private practice settings. I have also served as an instructor in Boston College's Mental Health Counseling program and a supervisor at the Brookline Community Mental Health Center where I have had the privilege of helping to train future therapists. I obtained both my Master's in Mental Health Counseling and my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Boston College. I am based in Newton Centre and also provide services virtually. I look forward to meeting you.
Emma Goldblum (she/her/s), founder of Horizon Therapy Services, is a clinical social worker practicing psychotherapy in the Greater Boston Area, with an office based in Dedham for in-person client sessions. Telehealth sessions are also available upon request. A graduate of the Boston College School of Social Work, Emma specializes in trauma-informed treatment, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. Emma was trained in trauma-sensitive treatment while working for two of Greater Boston's renowned trauma specialty clinics, The Trauma Center at JRI and Children's Charter Child & Family Trauma Clinic. Emma strives to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients are treated with respect and dignity, and feel listened to and valued. In therapy, Emma aims to help clients process challenging experiences, identify their strengths, and develop new coping skills and language to manage difficulties, all while nurturing hope, relief, and empowerment. It is Emma's hope that clients emerge with increased confidence and resilience, ready to navigate life with greater ease.
If anxiety, substance use, or a difficult period of transition is making it harder to live the way you want to, psychotherapy can help. I work with young adults who want more than advice or a place to vent while a therapist sits back and nods. Imagine a therapy that makes no direct attempt to reduce symptoms, but achieves symptom reduction as a by-product. Our work is about changing your relationship with painful experience and helping you live more fully in line with your values. I provide in-person psychotherapy in Cambridge and telehealth across Massachusetts.
I am a solution-focused therapist who meets clients where they are at with compassion, but also help to build strategies on how to cope with life. I incorporate a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to help adolescents and young adults find healthy ways to work through stressors.
I have loved working with students since 1987. The process of discovering one’s authentic self can be exhilarating and the rewards are exponential. My approach focuses on strengths, augmenting the health that is already present. Learning how to see one’s self (and the world) in this way is a courageous and creative process. By recognizing patterns in relating — to one’s self and others— there’s a clearer sense of what’s precious to you, what gets in the way, and how you can realistically be your best self. While I have experience with the whole range of human problems, I work well with folks who enjoy being playful and creative. I think laughing together in therapy is essential, for many reasons. My formal training is in intensive individual and family therapy specializing in trauma and adolescence. From 1994-2000 I ran the trauma service and psychology training on the adolescent unit at McLean Hospital, teaching and training Harvard residents and post-docs. I am psychoanalytically trained (PhD from University of Michigan, and I’m a graduate of Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute), but I have a deep appreciation for mind-body holistic health, I have also been a professional dancer and artist— which is probably why I favor creativity as the best coping strategy. You should probably know my dog is my co-pilot. Lucky, my goldendoodle, works with me and really loves his job, but if you'd rather we work alone that's ok too.

I have 35 years of experience in doing therapy, including having done a fellowship in College Health. I am a Clinical Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and am affiliated at Brigham & Women's Hospital. I enjoy working with people particularly in the areas of anxiety and depression, love and relationship concerns, family issues, college life adjustment, career matters, and dealing with medical illness. My office is in Cambridge. I am trained in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for young people, adults, and kids. I can also prescribe medication, although I don’t do that unless it is in the context of an ongoing regular therapy. I’d be happy to talk with you to see if we’re a good fit for working together! As an associate psychotherapist at Soultality Center for Psychotherapy, I primarily work with adolescents and adults struggling with OCD, anxiety, and complex trauma. I also have experience supporting clients with depression, relationship issues, identity exploration, and chronic suicidality.
Therapy is about seeking balance and asking questions and looking for answers. Finding a balance between what we feel and what we know and a balance between the quicker emotional side of our mind and the more considered rational side are part of the process. Whether the questions are around school, interpersonal relationships, substance abuse, or career and motivation the answers will come only with this balance. My approach to therapy is about solving problems based on a relational and collaborative approach offering a supportive and sympathetic ear balanced with reality and solutions. With nearly 25 years of experience in the field I bring a diverse background giving me strong clinical skills in the areas of substance abuse, depression, anxiety, career and family issues. Life is a series of experiments, some good some not so good. Therapy is a way to sort out the good from the bad and, giving yourself credit for what you know and can do and putting it to work for a better tomorrow I invite you to give me a call at 617-524-1220 To protect your privacy my phone is a confidential landline which does NOT accept text messages

Accepting new patients.....It is through therapy that we come to understand how our experiences make our lives meaningful. Choosing a therapist isn't an easy task; I hope sharing my perspective helps. Over the last decade I have worked at universities, elementary schools, rehabilitation centers and group homes with children and adults from 7-70. These experiences have shown me that the right environment activates our innate capacity to mature and thrive. Therapy is not about "fixing" someone, it's about creating a space that supports growth. My approach embraces the power of personality to facilitate change. Through active listening, I acknowledge the impact of personal experiences and encourage exploration. Like exercising - regular, creative dialogue yields new strengths and abilities. In this way, individuals find their own solutions that are often more personalized than CBT. As you search for a therapist, consider me - I think you'll find me accessible, pragmatic, and insightful.
