I am a private therapist who works with clients in the areas of anxiety, social stress, and academic stress. I have worked with students who had eating disorders. I have experience working with individuals in school settings, as well as with college students and young professionals who are finding their way in the world of work. I welcome meeting you if my profile fits your needs. I also have a profile on the Psychology Today website, which you can access to find out more about me. Welcome! I'm a therapist who helps college/graduate students and young professionals move from feeling anxious, stuck and unsure to secure, at ease, and fulfilled. Whether it’s feelings of uncertainty about your college and career path, struggles with self-esteem and perfectionism, or adjusting to a new medical diagnosis, you know you’re ready to make changes in your life. Many of the people I work with identify as high-achievers who have “taken all the right steps”, yet are still feeling anxious or uncertain. On paper, they are doing great and seem to have it all together, but inside they’re struggling with feelings of imposter syndrome or like they don’t know if they’re on the right path. I'm here to help you gain the tools and skills necessary to thrive in the face of challenges. Together, we will identify your goals and work collaboratively with an individualized and strengths-based approach. Through our work, we will spend some time exploring your past while also ensuring that we’re taking action-oriented steps to keep you moving forward.
The Narrative Network offers collaborative therapy for people across Massachusetts and brings therapists together for supervision, training, and ongoing relationships with the ideas and practices called narrative therapy. We believe people are more than the problems they are facing. Difficulties take shape in lives, relationships, histories, and social worlds — and therapy can create room to notice the values, knowledges, commitments, and relationships that may have become harder to see when life is difficult.
If you're struggling with persistent sadness, lack of energy, or difficulty concentrating, you're not alone. Perhaps anxiety leaves you breathless, or stress manifests physically. Maybe irritability is affecting your relationships, or daily tasks feel insurmountable. Whether you're trying to manage chronic issues, adjusting to a new environment, or seeking to improve your overall well-being, our services are tailored to support your unique journey.
I am a Mental Health Counselor, practicing in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and the founder of Self First Counseling, PLLC. I have had the pleasure to work with a range of individuals across my career. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University in Behavior and Health and later received my Master of Science degree at Salem State University in Mental Health Counseling Psychology. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, alcohol use, stress, and relationship/family issues. I am a certified clinician and supervisor in the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), an evidence based approach to working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with substance use. My approach to counseling is client centered. I believe it is important to meet my clients where they are at and collaborate around goals of counseling. I have previous experience working in settings such as residential programs, intensive in-home services, and within medical settings. I find it important to build an alliance with my clients where we can work together and I can support my clients in making strides towards completing their identified goals. I believe strongly in highlighting strengths and keeping a strength-based attitude throughout treatment. I believe that we are all unique and, therefore, one technique does not fit all. I feel strongly that counseling can support us when we are in a difficult place, but also when we are doing well. It’s important to have support from others and be able to continue to make progress so we can always be a better version of ourselves than we were the day before. Set-backs and struggles are all a part of life, change, and success. I am here to provide education, support, validation, encouragement, and new ideas in order to help my clients achieve the success and change they are looking for. Your journey of self starts here.
You may be doing well on paper while quietly feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of yourself. I work especially well with college and graduate students navigating anxiety, identity questions, relationship concerns, grief, trauma, academic pressure, major life transitions, or the exhaustion of trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. My practice is welcoming to LGBTQIA+ students, veterans, adult learners, and others who have felt pressure to hide, shrink, or edit parts of themselves to belong. Therapy with me is warm, honest, and collaborative. Together, we can make sense of the patterns that have helped you survive, strengthen your ability to handle difficult emotions, and help you build a life guided by greater self-trust, choice, and authenticity.

My early career in the NICU as a registered nurse shaped my understanding of trauma, stress, and the long-term psychological impact of medical and life events on patients and families. This led me to pursue specialized training in psychiatric mental health, with a focus on supporting women, trauma-related conditions, and mood and anxiety disorders. I have extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and complex mood disorders. Throughout my practice, I've developed a strong focus and success in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I'm also deeply passionate about women’s mental health, helping patients navigate unique life transitions, hormonal shifts, and the intersecting challenges that impact women's well-being. My approach is centered on empowering patients with practical tools and compassionate insights to foster resilience and meaningful growth. My therapeutic framework is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), allowing me to provide patients with concrete, evidence-based tools to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and executive dysfunction. In addition to CBT, I draw from a wide range of therapeutic modalities to ensure care is collaborative and dynamic. Recognizing that every individual’s journey is unique, I take an integrative and whole-body approach to care. By blending evidence-based modalities like CBT with other person-centered techniques, I'm able to tailor my therapeutic style to match each person's specific goals, strengths, and lifestyle. My hope for every patient is that you feel deeply heard, validated, and empowered in your care. In our sessions, you aren't just a diagnosis; you're a whole person. Together, we'll combine advanced clinical expertise with a compassionate, tailored approach to help you achieve lasting wellness and peace of mind. My hope for you is not just symptom management, but true flourishing. I'm most passionate about the transformative healing journey that begins when a patient feels fully heard and understood. My clinical approach is rooted in exploring a person's complete history and past traumas to understand the 'why' behind their current challenges. By getting to the root of these issues, I'm able to provide targeted care. I find it incredibly rewarding to guide patients through this comprehensive healing process, partnering with them to build a foundation for long-term peace and wellness.
