Therapists for college students near 02138
My goal as a clinician is to help you feel free. In treatment, I will invite you to bring your whole self into the room, as you are. Together, we will work to identify the ways in which you feel stuck and shift unhealthy patterns that keep you from moving forward. There is no need to "have it all figured out." All I ask is that you remain open and curious to the known and unknown parts of yourself. It is my hope that through our work together, you will begin to better know who you are, identify what you want, and live a richer, more meaningful life.

We recognize that maintaining a healthy relationship while attending college can be demanding, and our couple therapy sessions are tailored to address the unique challenges couples may face during this phase of life. We also offer adult family therapy, recognizing that family dynamics can play a significant role in a college student's well-being. Our family therapy sessions provide a safe space to explore and resolve familial conflicts, improve communication with parents and siblings, and foster a supportive environment for personal growth and development. To enhance accessibility and flexibility, we offer both in-office and telehealth services. We understand that college schedules can be demanding and unpredictable, so our telehealth option allows students to receive therapy conveniently from their dorms, apartments, or any private space. At Meridian Psychotherapy, we prioritize the mental health and well-being of college students. Our licensed therapists are not only skilled clinicians but also empathetic allies who genuinely care about the success and happiness of our student clients. We recognize the importance of providing a confidential and non-judgmental space for students to share their concerns and explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Our commitment goes beyond therapy sessions, as we strive to empower college students with coping skills and resources they can carry forward throughout their academic journey and beyond. We work collaboratively with students, empowering them to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and build a strong foundation for their future. We live in a stressful world where everyone is struggling. The current global crisis compiled with our personal life experiences have created a sense of overwhelm, burnout, isolation and disconnection. And our life journeys are full of crisis, loss, grief, and trauma. These experiences activate fear, alter patterns of behavior, create limitations in perception, relationship issues, low self-esteem, addictions, negative thought patterns and a multitude of mental and physical health symptoms. An accumulation of these unprocessed emotions and unresolved traumas can weaken the spirit, affecting one’s core vitality for life. Kellyann is nurturing by nature and creates a safe and compassionate environment where trust is easily built within the therapeutic relationship, so that healing can take place. Kellyann is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who employs a holistic and spiritual approach to healing. She works with her clients to dissolve layers of trauma, reprogram beliefs, connect to their emotions in healthy ways, and empowers people to achieve whatever it is they are seeking. She works with her clients to search for the stuck points and old wounds that may be getting in the way of finding the happiness they desire and deserve. Kellyann’s counseling sessions are built on a holistic model where she applies multiple approaches based on what a client wants and needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to support clients with managing their symptoms in healthy ways. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is used to assist clients with learning how to process the emotions they find intolerable. Psychoanalysis allows Kellyann to look for healing at the root cause. Internal Family Systems teaches an individual what they may need and identify ways to receive it. Mindfulness allows clients to accept their truth even when what have happened to them may have been extremely wrong and unfair and Trauma Processing allows for clients to create a healthy connection to their experiences through a narrative. Spirituality invites the opportunity to see a possibility for hope even one is nowhere in sight. Kellyann works with people who are struggling with a variety of mental health problems as well as clients seeking life skills and tools for coping in our stressful world. She offers a free 15-minute phone consult to in order to determine whether we are a good fit prior to scheduling the first session.

I am a Harvard-trained physician who practiced Neurology for 25 years before completing a post-graduate psychotherapy fellowship to allow me to help others in a different way. This major life change informs my work as a psychotherapist. No matter where along our life’s path we find ourselves, and no matter how distressed, stuck or trapped we feel, we can always come to know ourselves more fully and to make changes in the service of a more satisfying, meaningful and fulfilling life. I practice a flexible style of psychotherapy tailored to each unique person or couple. Some prefer a shorter-term, more active therapy that focuses on making changes in the here and now. Others benefit from a longer-term, more self-directed exploration in a safe and supportive environment. Although my focus is on helping people meet their goals through therapy, I offer the option to prescribe adjunctive medication when needed. My aim is always to understand each person’s unique life experiences, beliefs, values and goals and to work with each person to promote enhanced self-understanding and freedom of choice in the service of a life that feels satisfying and meaningful. When working with a couple, my aim is to help the couple work through current relationship difficulties and, if both partners are invested in maintaining the relationship, to help them create a partnership where each feels safe, secure, valued and cared for.

Hi, my name is Jake and I’m a therapist in Brookline. I meet with clients in person and online. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and particularly young adults and people early in their careers who are searching for more meaning, fulfillment and balance in life. Regardless of the main issue that brings individuals into therapy, many of my clients struggle with some type of self-defeating narrative, or what I call, an unworkable story about themselves or about some aspect of their lives. I enjoy helping people uncover these unworkable patterns and develop more effective ways of viewing themselves and their lives. Working with me involves exploring what gets in the way of more openness, awareness and engagement with life, and then practicing increasing these ways of being through exercises (such as mindfulness approaches), use of metaphor to shift perspective and other behavioral moves. It’s important to me that I meet every client where he or she is at and work collaboratively toward creating the life you want for yourself. I look forward to connecting with you!
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive training in, and experience providing, evidence-based treatment for adolescents, adults, and couples. I strive to create a warm, safe environment in which clients are encouraged to explore the connections between their internal experiences (thoughts, feelings, urges), external events, and behaviors. My approach is collaborative and aims to empower individuals to make mindful choices in service of their goals and values. I take an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach, and I integrate other evidence-based treatments, such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I specialize in treating anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), perfectionism, and depression. I am grateful for the privilege of working so intimately with individuals and families. I look forward to meeting with you.

College is a stressful time full of academic demands and social obligations, and everyone needs a space where they can focus on themselves. Clients that work with me are often experiencing big life changes, may be showing signs of stress and burnout, or might be noticing challenges popping up in their relationships. I work to form a strong therapeutic relationship with clients in which they can feel comfortable openly expressing their emotions, work through challenges, or just learn more about who they are. I welcome any client who is looking for a therapeutic space of their own, whether they have years of therapy under their belt or are reaching out for the first time!
Therapy can be a powerful space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. My approach focuses on the here and now—helping clients notice how their environment and surroundings impact their stress and emotional well-being. I believe that many challenges we face are shaped by internal and external systems, and I support clients in easing excess self-blame while finding clarity and strength in their responses. I use a strength-based, collaborative approach to help people feel more hopeful, grounded, and empowered in their healing process.
As an experienced and compassionate psychologist, I am committed to helping individuals on their journey towards self-discovery and personal growth. It is a privilege to work with clients who are motivated to gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and relationships, and who aspire to evolve and improve. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, empathic, and tailored to each individual's needs. I draw from a range of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), relational, interpersonal, and insight-oriented therapies.
I specialize in working with patients who struggle with mood disorders, safety concerns, college transition, learning challenges, social skill challenges, grief/separation, and anger challenges. I provide integrated, wrap-around MMT care for my clients, and their parents/caregivers, helping facilitate an understanding of their behavioral/learning challenges. As a social worker, my focus extends beyond individual therapy sessions—I actively facilitate communication and collaboration between multiple parties involved, ensuring the best support for my clients. My goal is to empower young individuals to overcome challenges, foster personal growth, and thrive academically and personally.
It is hard to get in a groove and to recover after the times of solitude, separation, and all things unknown we’ve experienced. You know yourself the best, but everyone needs help, support and help connecting these days. No one has been through this before! If you would like someone to connect with, to talk with about figuring out things that are best for you and your people, feel free to contact me. I am working with individuals in person (mostly) and have flexible hours. No topic is off limits. I would very much look forward to talking with you.
