Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
Welcome! I am so glad you are taking the time to look over my profile and get to know me better. It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to seek out counseling. I believe in the power of therapy and the healing it can bring in one's life. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative approach, meaning as your therapist, I will work with you to help you gain insight and develop coping skills that will make an impactful difference in your life. I always prioritize our relationship and want you to feel safe and accepted for who you are. My clients appreciate my authentic personality, my humor, and my ability to empathize with them. Many of my clients come to therapy to gain a better understanding who they are, where they come from, and where they want to go. Sometimes clients come to therapy for just a handful of sessions and find that they got what they needed in that time. Others may find that they benefit from going to therapy for months or even years. There is no right or wrong way. However, you get as much out of therapy as you put in, so it's important to be an active participant in and out of the session. If I feel that I am not equipped or trained in what you are needing from therapy, I am happy to refer you to another professional who may be a better fit. Finding the right therapist is key in experiencing the full benefits therapy can bring! I encourage you to check out my practice's website and contact me via email or phone to get started! I am happy to provide a free 15 minute phone consultation to learn more about what you are needing in therapy and if I will be a good fit for you!
Natalie Casey is an Eastern Michigan University and Boston University graduate. She is professionally licensed in Michigan and Georgia and sees all of her clients virtually. If you're feeling stuck, confused, anxious, or have a case of the "blahs," Natalie gets it. Life can be hard and no one gives you a map on how to navigate everything that comes up. Whether you have experienced a traumatic event or a new life change, it can be incredibly validating and helpful to talk to someone who understands. Natalie might not be able to relate firsthand to what you're going through, but her experience working as a psychotherapist can help you get to where you want to be. She has supported clients through grief, trauma, identity exploration, and relationship strain. She'll help you heal younger parts of yourself, learn new skills, and establish and maintain healthy boundaries. Natalie is a Brainspotting certified therapist and uses Brainspotting for performance enhancement and trauma processing to facilitate accelerated healing. My name is Dr. Kourtney Carter and I am a licensed therapist here in Atlanta, GA. I have been working in mental health and program development for over 10 years. I have a bachelors degree in clinical psychology, a masters degree in social work with a concentration in health and mental health, and a doctoral degree in health administration. My research focused on the impact of LGBTQ patient satisfaction on patient volume and hospital revenue. I believe mental health should be celebrated and embraced. Our mental health is just as important as our physical health. As a licensed therapist I understand the many changes that life can bring. Change can bring on both healthy and unhealthy emotions. I am here to work with you to assist in getting back to a healthier you. I am experienced in depression, anxiety, stress management, career counseling, adjustment disorder, grief counseling, and LGBTQ++ needs.
I work primarily with clients who are struggling with issues of stress, anxiety, past childhood abuse/trauma, issues of racial identity/trauma, relationships, and women's issues (particularly single women). Additionally, I work with clients who have an interest in integrating their religious faith into their therapy.
Does it feel like intense emotions come out of nowhere and run you over? Are you drowning in anxiety? Do you speak or act without thinking and then ask yourself, “Why did I do that?!” Do you avoid doing things because they probably won’t work out for you? Maybe you beat yourself up, or you feel like no one understands you, or you can’t seem to find the type of relationships you want – maybe all of the above. You wonder whether things are ever going to change. You’re overwhelmed, you're struggling to manage it all, and you're stuck. I specialize in getting people un-stuck. I hear where you’re coming from and validate you without losing sight of why you came to therapy in the first place – you want things to be different. I can teach you to control your emotions and gain a sense of stability, and guide you on the path to less anxiety, higher self-confidence, and better relationships. I approach my clients with unmistakable authenticity. When you meet with me, you're meeting with the real me. I give my clients the tools they need to solve their own problems along with the knowledge of when, where, and how to use each tool. If you’re ready to build the life you want, let’s talk!

Hi! I'm Rosie (she/her). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of both Georgia and Texas. I work primarily with young adults (20s and 30s), and many of my clients are people who identify as LGBTQIA+. I have special focus in trauma processing, ADHD management, and career exploration. Throughout my social work career I have passionately advocated for racial, social and economic justice through the empowerment of individuals and groups including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with HIV, people experiencing homelessness, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, veterans, children and youth, and more. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist myself, I am mindful of how people’s identities factor into their experience of the world and their experience in therapy. I believe that people begin to heal the moment they feel heard. While I do incorporate interventions like CBT, EMDR, IFS, and distress tolerance, my first and foremost focus is to be unconditionally on your team and on your side. Past clients have told me that I am a natural listener and am genuine and warm in how I relate to people. When I am not obsessing over the personality psychology phenomenon known as the enneagram, I enjoy laying in the sun with a good podcast, jogging the Atlanta beltline, reading, cooking, yoga, and exploring the local food scene.

Human life is full of distractions and failures, and treatment, either psychological or physical, is likewise. We will have moments of perceived failure and distractions. That is OK…. new ways of thinking take time and practice. A trusting relationship between client and therapist is the most important factor in therapeutic success. I work hard to earn and keep your trust. I operate from a positive psychotherapy framework and provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental, safe place. I build this safe place so you can explore your concerns, learn about what is preventing you from living the life you want, or search for your preferred future. My counseling style is kind, caring, and built on relationships. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and non-judgment. Admitting to yourself that you can not do everything alone and reaching out to a professional for help are the first steps towards living your preferred future. The way in which we live is greatly influenced by how we see the world. Asking for help, and getting a new perspective is often the most profound step towards your preferred future. The more support you gain, the more able you will be to heal and grow. Therapy is an investment in yourself and is ALL ABOUT YOU. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, and the average cost of a session for clients who use their insurance is less than $30.

Hello. I imagine you work hard and appear to have it together, but inside anxiety is churning. Thoughts race and your inner critic is loud and getting louder by the day. A good night’s sleep? What’s that? I’m here to help. It’s possible to live with more joy, passion, and purpose.
Let’s be real — asking for help feels hard. We’ve been taught that being the “strong one” means doing it all alone. That needing support somehow makes us weak, messy, or not put-together enough. Whether it’s from family, culture, or social media… the pressure to look like you’ve got it all figured out is exhausting. But here’s the truth: asking for help is a power move. It means you’re self-aware enough to know when something's off — and brave enough to do something about it. Healing doesn’t make you broken. It makes you real. It makes you whole. As your therapist, I’m not here to “fix” you — I’m here to help you find yourself again. Together, we’ll unpack what’s been heavy, rewire some patterns, and create space for you to breathe, grow, and show up as her — the version of you that’s confident, grounded, emotionally free, and fully in her power. Struggling with anxiety or overthinking? Tired of toxic relationships or feeling like you’re never enough? Burning out trying to keep it all together? It’s time to choose you. Not the perfect version. Not the polished mask. The real you — in progress, healing, and glowing. Let’s do the inner work, set the boundaries, and walk in purpose. Because the goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress.

Cheers to you for starting (or continuing) your mental wellness journey! This part is not easy- but you can feel proud for doing so! Therapy with me will feel like a safe space to have meaningful and transformative dialogue. Together, we will identify a treatment plan that will help you in navigating: life transitions, relationships, trauma, breakups, family concerns, stress/anxiety, work/career issues, thinking patterns, self-esteem, etc. I believe our thoughts are pivotal in how we see others, ourselves, and the world. If you struggle with negative thought patterns, often feel “in your head” and struggle to thrive in your day to day, let’s talk! I have extensive training and experience with reframing unhelpful thoughts, imposter syndrome, decreasing stress & anxiety symptoms, and self-image concerns. Let’s work together to improve the relationship with yourself and others! My commitment to clients is to show up authentically, and to provide a safe space that allows you to do the same! While the work of therapy can be challenging and complex, I do my best to make it enjoyable, productive, and worthwhile! Please feel free to contact me with questions or to schedule your first session! Take care!
