The Raimy Psychology Clinic at the University of Colorado was founded in 1960 and has been providing affordable psychological treatment for over 40 years to adults in the Boulder County area, including University of Colorado students, faculty and staff. The Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado maintains the Raimy Clinic as a training site for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program. Graduate student therapists provide therapeutic services and are supervised by licensed psychologists and other experienced mental health professionals. The primary goal of the Clinic is to provide an introduction to clinical training for clinical psychology graduate students. The secondary goal of the Clinic is the provision of quality psychological services to the community at large. An additional goal of the Clinic is the integration of research and clinical training. Because of the training function of the Clinic, we offer psychological services at substantially reduced fees, assessed on the basis of a sliding scale, with low flat rates for full-time CU Boulder students, faculty, or staff. We are a fee for service clinic and do not accept insurance. Credit card payments are made through a secure online system. Contact the intake coordinator for more information about our services and rates. We are committed to providing services to those who are currently underserved, including economically-disadvantaged, ethnic and sexual minorities, as well as families. Services are currently provided exclusively through videoconferencing, using a confidentiality-secured, HIPAA compatible Zoom.

I am is a bicultural therapist, mother and wife who is passionate about supporting my clients while they navigate their unique life, relationships, and transitions. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. I have a BA in Psychology and a master’s degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I am trained in trauma-based therapy and EMDR. I can support you both in English and Spanish. As a somatic therapist, I believe in the phenomenal connection between body and mind. I work to help her clients understand and establish a close relationship with their bodies. My somatic training supports the healing process by helping clients understanding how tuning into the nervous system alone can generate more wellbeing in daily life. I work with families, couples, children, teens and adults. As a therapist, I advocate and work with people of diverse backgrounds. My main lens is on the importance of how relationships shape who we are. I have experience working within various forms of attachment-based therapy and utilizes a trauma informed perspective to meet her clients where they are. My main purpose is to create a safe space to explore and unfold the process of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I am passionate about my clients and the specific supports they’re seeking and know how to apply my training at the level others can understand. When it comes to breaking down barriers, I believe in the power of understanding, exploring, and joining around challenges that can often lead to division and disconnection with self and others. In my work I find that it’s very important to feel seen and recognized in ways that are compassionate and respectful on all accounts. I like to laugh a lot and finds that rushing into things or placing timelines on major life processes can sometimes be unrealistic in the therapeutic setting. In my eyes I see that each of us has a unique understanding around our own timing and rhythm in the world, especially when challenged with life transitions. Offering therapy online.
Hey! My name is Elena, I use she/her pronouns, and I work with rebels, rioters, and revolutionaries. My practice is one that centers and celebrates authenticity, courageous exploration, and a collaborative, therapeutic relationship. In practice, this can look like taking the time to build trust and connection, pulling from a wide variety of modalities, and curiosity and silliness when needed (which I believe is often!) I have seen many therapists feel the need to rush into “fixing”; in my work, there is no rush and there is no “fixing”. Together, we will sit in the messy experience of being human; exploring and learning from our pain while uplifting and celebrating the joys. We will co-create your therapy experience, making it into whatever you need it to be in order to feel as safe as possible. I bring an anti-oppression and decolonization lens to the work of therapy, as this helps to ensure that I do my best to mitigate the harmful impacts of these systemic issues in the healing space. I will certainly make mistakes. I hope you do, too! These are opportunities for both of us to practice collective learning, unlearning, and healing. I believe that therapy is community. We may share certain identities and there will be those we do not share, yet it remains a community. Let's be in joyous community together!

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, I graduated as my high school’s valedictorian before earning a bachelor’s in creative writing and chemistry from Eckerd College. I have additional training in psychedelic-assisted therapies and Integrative Medicine. I specialize in supporting individuals from Asian, Asian American, and multicultural backgrounds who navigate bicultural or multicultural experiences. Additionally, I work with individuals who identify as Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs) or Empaths and have experienced childhood relational trauma. I offer contemplative somatic psychotherapy and coaching services. Contemplative somatic psychotherapy and coaching are integrative approaches that combine mindfulness, body-based practices, and talk therapy to explore the mind-body connection. This therapeutic method focuses on understanding how emotions and experiences are stored in the body and utilizes techniques to promote healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.
You may look like you are holding it together, but inside you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and tired of riding an emotional rollercoaster. Maybe anxiety, depression, trauma, or intense mood swings are making it hard to show up at work, in relationships, or even for yourself. If you feel like your emotions are too big, your thoughts race, or you keep repeating patterns that hurt you or the people you love, you are not alone. Together we can slow things down, make sense of what you are going through, and build skills that actually work in real life. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, depression, mood and personality disorders, relationship issues, and substance use. I use DBT, CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness based tools to help you reduce self blame, manage crises, set boundaries, and create steadier relationships with yourself and others. Clients describe me as warm, direct, and nonjudgmental. I will honor your story while also gently challenging the beliefs that keep you stuck, so therapy feels like a real partnership instead of you doing this on your own. Hi! My main goal is always to help my clients to help themselves, so you feel empowered to embrace stress and change as it comes. With experience working in an eating disorder hospital and 7 years working as a therapist in the Athletic Depts at UT Austin and CU Boulder, I've been involved with supporting my clients through the life challenges that high schoolers, young adults, and adults face for my entire professional career. I am EMDR certified and use this to treat trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, urges in addiction/EDs, and sport performance (both positive reinforcement as well as treating mental blocks). I particularly enjoy teaching tools for navigating anxiety and depressive symptoms, helping to make peace with body image, and supporting mental performance for sport. I also have a passion for supporting perfectionists to expand their view of themselves and learn to release a little of the control that is actually controlling them!

I believe the foundation of good health is rooted within oneself. My passion lies in supporting individuals who struggle with acknowledging their strengths and empowering them to tackle challenges with confidence. Whether individuals face diverse challenges or just need a listening ear, I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for all. I place a high priority on meeting my clients where they feel most comfortable and working collaboratively with them towards their goals. Having worked in a range of settings such as schools, community health centers, and private practice, I bring a wealth of knowledge to advocate for each individual's unique needs. I specialize in accentuating strengths and equipping individuals with effective tools to achieve success, with one of the key tools being self-regulation. I firmly believe that our reactions to situations are among our greatest freedoms. I am excited to offer a non-judgmental and safe environment to start your journey of self-discovery and healing, regardless of where you are currently in life.
You might feel like you're always searching for the thing, the right practice, the perfect insight, the magic fix that will finally make you feel whole, real, or enough. You’ve read all the books, done all the self-help, and still feel stuck in the same patterns, disconnected from yourself and the world around you. Or maybe you’re painfully aware of all your struggles but don’t know how to move forward. Here’s the truth: you don’t need to be fixed. Healing isn’t about doing more, working harder, or becoming someone different. It starts with being, with slowing down, noticing, and meeting yourself with curiosity rather than criticism I help clients shift from doing to being by building non-judgmental awareness and self-acceptance. This becomes solid ground from which real change can emerge. Using mindfulness, relational and bodily awareness we’ll explore how to soften survival patterns, expand your capacity to be with yourself, and cultivate a sense of aliveness, connection, and trust. I offer a grounded, relational space where we move with our patterns, not against them. Together, we’ll explore how your nervous system has adapted to past experiences and how to build skills that work with your unique body and life. If this resonates, reach out for a free consultation.I’d love to connect. I meet virtually and accept Medicaid and private pay
I believe being a student and learning is an opportunity, and sometimes having a consistent therapist alongside can make the difference and help you get the most out of the opportunity. Being in school is not a singular thing, it’s not just about being the student in class who does assignments and gets the grade. In addition to being a student, there is one’s mental, physical, and emotional health, there are often bills to pay, and often the needs of others to meet. There are many other parts of ourselves and our lives that intersect with and function together with being in school. It can be overwhelming. It can be an adjustment. Transitions are big and important. There are our lives both in and out of school. Students are often also family members, caregivers, working individuals, or living with loss, trauma, depression, stress, or a medical illness. Students also learn differently, including some with accommodations for success. Some students find they need to confront an overwhelming need for perfection, or perhaps one is facing a particular challenge that is important to look at rather than look away. Therapy can be helpful when you are in school. I like to meet a client where they are at and begin by understanding you. I offer my warmth, and capacity to listen and to hold space even when the workable feels unworkable. I offer my experience and knowledge in counseling and in the creative art therapies, and hold value in an inclusive and affirmative lens. I enjoy working with students in higher education, meeting them in the places where school intersects with other parts of self that must be given care and attention, or to look more closely at or develop one’s career journey. I employ both talk therapy and the use of creative, expressive processes such as movement, poetry, art, music, story, and metaphor. The work is collaborative between counselor and client, being open about therapy goals and progress. I place value on your inherent strengths, and believe that we all hold motivation and an innate capacity to heal and be the very best versions of ourselves. Please call or email me to schedule a free consultation call.
"Finding that there is more to life, beyond food and fear" . . . is the heart of my therapeutic philosophy. Most of my clients live in fear around how much food they eat . . . or do not eat. Their relationship with food has devolved into one of pain and hiding versus pleasure and health. I use a Gestalt approach which gives voice to a person’s two conflicting parts: the part wanting to hold onto the old, comfortable eating patterns and their "benefits", and the part yearning to let go for permanent growth and healing. Clients ultimately can reach a place where they discover choice, freedom and a healthy relationship with food. What I offer, that is different, is a no-frills, direct approach . . backed with over 20 years of extensive counseling practice and hands-on experience working with a wide continuum of mental health and addictions issues. My approach works for many clients as I truly believe that effective counseling deals with "unfinished business" and patterns from our past, which play out in our lives today. Once identified and challenged, clients can then find "choice" and make the key changes that will truly sustain into the future. Most people who contact me are already aware that they are doing their best AND that something is not working and needs to change. Are you up for a change? Please note, I do not accept insurance through my private practice but you can find me on the Sondermind platform to potentially use your insurance.
Whether you are struggling with perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, can't get over your last relationship, or just don't know if you want to keep going at all...I'm here to help. I struggled mentally throughout my late teens and early twenties; carrying around a lot of shame, self-doubt, and difficulty understanding why it appeared so much easier for everyone else. As a therapist, I am here to listen--not just to your stories, but for the swells of deep feeling that can lead to healing. Together, we will uncover your false beliefs that may be causing unneeded suffering and learn to trust your inner voice as a guide and companion.
