Hello all! I am a therapist with extensive experience helping people heal from trauma and navigate stress. I have worked and trained all over the world - in Northern Iraq, India, and Costa Rica, helping folks heal from war trauma and violence. I now work in Denver with New Americans and immigrant families as they adjust to the US, and here in Boulder with anyone ready to heal from trauma and feel more alive. My practice is called Prosocial because it is a community-based model, which means when you come to therapy with Prosocial, you make it possible for others to access affordable, low-cost therapy. Your session gives a session, and every session counts. This is where self-care becomes community care. Find out more at my website at the bottom of this page. Let's heal together!
Everyone deserves a safe and nonjudgmental space to be truly heard. I specialize in helping young adults and college-aged individuals navigate life’s complicated middle— transitions, uncertain decisions, relationship challenges, and identity shifts. I also specialize in treatment for anxiety and depression. I have over 19 years of experience providing therapy and interventions with youth and young adults. My extensive experience in school social work has given me the opportunity to better understand the social, behavioral, and emotional experiences that young people navigate each day.
I'm an experienced trauma and grief therapist, counseling people facing very painful situations and emotions. Students, faculty and staff come in with post traumatic stress, de-motivation, relationships falling apart, trouble with dysfunctional families/groups, depression, anxiety, grief, losses, disaster. What about you? What brings you to reach for support? Are you devastated, angry, sad, betrayed? Do you feel trapped, helpless, shamed, confused, sick? Are you overwhelmed, super stressed, panicking, self-harming, isolating, grieving? Has someone close to you committed suicide? Has a natural disaster taken your world as you knew it? Do you feel lost while others seem to know what they're doing, where they're going? Are you abusing substances? Carrying others' burdens? My care is shaped by your needs, not based on an institutional protocol. We'll start where you are.
Challenges are essential to growth. We all face challenges. The various challenges, crises, traumas we all inevitably encounter can create anxiety, depression, and disconnection. Unfortunately, labels and diagnoses can stop you from seeing that you are okay. As you are. Your felt experiences of hurt, when processed deeply, actually lead to self-discovery. Seeking help doesn’t mean that anything is necessarily wrong. In fact, expertise can guide you through these moments safely. Through somatic healing therapy, individuals and couples will find inner strength to start anew. I am a somatic therapist who counsels individuals and couples to honor who they truly are. Together, we explore new ways to cope with conflicts, and the challenges presented in day-to-day life. Bring all of yourself to therapy. You’ll create better relationships with yourself and others as a result. So, get comfortable. Let’s find what brings you joy and helps you feel fulfilled. Break through. Ultimately, this process is about loving and becoming more of yourself.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist in private practice. I work mainly through insight-oriented psychotherapy, but I also offer diagnostic evaluations and prescribing services. Patients see me for a variety of concerns around self-esteem, trauma, attachment, dependency, boundaries, self-criticism, and childhood abuse/neglect. These issues may lead to shame, guilt, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, perfectionism, self-loathing, or repeated conflicts with family, colleagues, or romantic partners. Therapy is a chance to think carefully together about your past and present experiences to deepen your insight into your situation. As we come to understand your inner world, I hope you will gradually notice a greater sense of flexibility, freedom, and openness to life's many joys and challenges. As a psychiatrist, I am happy to help with diagnostic clarification and medical treatment of most general psychiatric conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, and others. While medications alone often fail to address the deeper conflicts and traumas that cause our symptoms, a thoughtful approach to prescribing can help build a foundation for the personal work that leads to lasting change. I have special experience working with university students and early career professionals in medicine, academia, law, tech, and the arts. I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I welcome and affirm those who may identify as LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent.
As a therapist, I offer insight-oriented therapy, which includes deep self-reflection, exploration of your hopes and goals, and artistic exploration. My practice focuses on attachment work, which helps people to strengthen their connection with their truth and authenticity. Being true to ourselves leads to greater self-worth, intuition, empathy, and better relationships. We can more confidently pursue our passions and purpose, and be more clear on our next steps in life. Young adults often see me to address the transition to college or graduation from college. Others are dealing with difficult family dynamics, including situations where their identities or life choices are not accepted or respected by family members. Some are seeking guidance as they develop their professional identity and consider their life trajectory. Others are healing from trauma, including sexual assault or abuse. The tools I draw on when working with young adults include talk therapy and EMDR—and I also find mediums like sand tray and art therapy to be useful. I offer sessions in-office or nature-based. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, the complexities of life transitions and more. You might be struggling with unhelpful thought patterns, emotional overwhelm, or difficult dynamics with others—or maybe you're just feeling stuck and not sure why. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and build meaningful steps toward the life you want to live. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with the strength that’s already within you. Real change begins in a space that feels safe, supportive, and real. That’s what I aim to create: a place where you can be fully seen, heard, and supported. I show up as a real person in the therapy room—with empathy, warmth, and curiosity. My approach is active, collaborative, and inclusive, grounded in values like self-compassion, empowerment, and nonjudgmental awareness. I strive to strike a balance between being supportive and gently challenging, so you feel encouraged to grow at your own pace. In our first session, we’ll take time to understand who you are, what you’re experiencing, and how your past has shaped your present. I take a holistic view, honoring your individuality, identity, and lived experiences. Together, we will design a treatment plan grounded in evidence-based practices that may include CBT, ACT, DBT or EMDR, empowering you with tangible tools to support your healing and create lasting change.
At Whole Connection we take Medicaid and work on a sliding scale. We provide high quality, accessible psychotherapy to Boulder County. Our team is made up of skilled therapists who provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy. In addition to outpatient therapy we offer a Trauma Recovery and Care program. Our Trauma Recovery and Care program is designed for individuals who are struggling to take control of their lives because they feel dictated by feelings that are deeply connected to their past. If you have been diagnosed with PTSD or you suspect that PTSD is underlying your current symptoms, this could be for you. We believe that all people should have access to Therapy, by clinicians and interns who are continually trained and educated and who are also taken care of (not overworked). In doing so we try and meet the needs of those of the community who come to see us by either sliding our fees or accepting medicaid insurance. Lastly we aim to provide free and affordable trainings for the larger community and clinicians to continue to learn and grow. We also take Victim's Compensation.
